[COVERAGE] Skechers Sundown Festival 2015

Korean hip-hop trio Epik High returns to Singapore for Skechers Sundown Festival 2015 held at Marina Promenade last Saturday, 21 November. Skechers Sundown Festival received an overwhelming crowd, a large percentage being fans of Epik High who were eager to meet members Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz.

Epik High was the only Korean act in the line-up for Skechers Sundown Festival alongside bands from Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and Singapore. Epik High was the last to perform at 10PM. The group came onstage with a powerful bang as they started with Born Hater, an explicit track from their latest album ‘Shoebox’.

Epik High member, Tablo, came onto stage while recording the crowd with his phone, which he later posted on his personal Instagram. He also performed his own version of Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” which appeared to be the most well-received song of the night as fans yelled along clearly to the lyrics.

Epik High performed a wide selection of tracks from their earlier years, such as “Fan”, “Love Love Love”, and “High Technology”. The group performed approximately 10 songs, ending it off with “Don’t Hate Me” as the final song for their encore.

Members of the Korean hip-hop trio knew how to work the crowd as they splashed fans with their water bottles and hyped the atmosphere with many of their popular upbeat tracks.

Members talked about Epik High’s upcoming concert in South Korea which will be held in December. They mentioned about the possibility of including Singapore as a stop for their tour, which received an uproar from the crowd. Tablo assured their fans that this would definitely not the last time that they will be in Singapore, and to expect more Epik High activities to come.
